Love Jesus. Love others. That’s all.

We are called to live differently.

Life has been particularly challenging for some time, hasn’t it? Just about every day--at least every week--there’s something in our news feeds that makes us wonder what’s going on with this planet.

We are all very concerned at the chaos we see erupting around the world from the devastating conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia to the mass shootings that plague our own country to catastrophic natural disasters around the world and at home. We continue to grapple with the long term effects of Covid and on top of all that, we are struggling to stretch our dollars as inflation and high interest rates continue to cause the price of everyday necessities to remain high.

Peter writes: “Dear Friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad - for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to the world.” [1 Peter 4: 12-13]

God is calling on us to trust Him more deeply, to dig our roots into Him. When the trials come then we won’t be swept away but will stand firm by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Here’s what is STILL true: God is in control. Jesus is Lord over all nations. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess in His sovereignty. We have a bright future ahead in the coming Kingdom where there is no sickness, pain, or sorrow. Where we will live without sin and be deeply aware of the constant presence of our Heavenly Father.

In the meantime, prayer is the most effective method for lasting change and living in community with other believers is necessary to help each other endure the hardships of this world.

We invite you to come and join our community at our Sunday gatherings and during the week as we grapple with these topics in teaching, fellowship, and prayer.

I love you and care deeply for your hearts!
